My personal bacon cheeseburger is not in the running. Because if it was, it would be a short hunt indeed.
There are probably more hamburgers on Western New York menus than anything else.
In my experience, that has made it the most sinned-against item in the Western New York restaurant repertoire.
So the News has commissioned me to search for the best burger in these parts. Please add your nomination here, or send them to my News email: agalarneau@buffnews.com
… and don’t bother with burgers of tofu and turkey and whatnot. They may be lovely indeed, but that’s not what we’re hunting for this season.

I had a really tasty Wegman’s incredibuger this week, different and really good. More in keeping with the spirit of the article, Oliver’s lounge menu had a great chili bbq burger . I don’t know if they still serve it though.

Grover’s on Transit Road has the most unbelieveable cheeseburger. It’s my No. 1 choice. Second, would be the one at Bobby McGee’s next to The Amherst Theater.

So glad you are doing this story Andrew. Ever since we moved here from nyc we’ve really missed the great burger joints. If you need help with your research, let me know.

Grover’s on Transit Road. I saw somebody already voted for it, but I wanted to second the nomination!
For a chain place…I would have to choose Fuddrucker’s.

The “Lex” burger (bleu and bacon) at Gabriel’s Gate gets my vote.

Sterling Place, Hertel Ave. A medium-rare, thick, juicy hand-shaped burger topped with spinach and Gorgonzola.

I agree with Mary.
Curt’s Stop Inn on Route 5 in the Woodlawn neighborhood of the Town of Hamburg does have a “killer burger.”
Try one out!
